Why we need drug education

1 June 2010

THIRTEEN students are facing expulsion following allegations of drug use in the grounds of Calamvale Community College.
The students were suspended pending an investigation and the police have been called in.
The school would not confirm to the Star the students’ ages, when they were suspended and what drugs were allegedly taken.
Education Queensland has refused to comment further on the allegations, stating the matter was in the hands of the police.
The college is the second southside school to deal with drug allegations this month after Canterbury College expelled three students for possession of cannabis.

An increasing number of students in our country are getting the wrong idea about the dangers of LSD and inhalants.  In other words, they don’t think they are so bad.
This and other information was included on a survey released by The National Institutes of Health (NIH), which monitors the use of drug education programs in school across the country.
